Connected the dots..:)
I didn't have much passion for writing or reading. I didn't have much patience to sit and read a novel. The passion for both started before a few months. Reading and writing, both are akin to meditation. My reading started from "The diary of a young girl". I got this book "connect the dots" by Rashmi Bansal from my sister. Anything titled MBA or IIT would interest me a lot. The front cover had the lines " the inspiring stories of 20 entrepreneurs without an MBA....".That lured me a lot. Even the title was catchy. It is a collection of mini biographies of people who have made it big, bitten by the entrepreneurship bug. The people who have made into this book are entrepreneurs without an MBA. The stories of these men quench our curiosity and really inspires us. Each story finely ends with a section “Advice to Young Entrepreneurs”. True to its title, every story unravels the dots which none of them could have connected looking forward but makes a lot of sense when retrospected.
I have connected the dots....now I am very hungry..:)
Stay Hungry Stay foolish follows up.

cool video on meditation
I happened to see this video in my sister's blog. Good video on meditation.
It says like if we start to fight, then the antagonist would be encouraged to do more.Silence is always a best tool and that silence can be best obtained through meditation.

Importance of an MBA degree
I always wanted to do an MBA, but don't really have an idea of its prerequisites. Today, I came across an article in Hindu about the expectations of students(management school) from an MBA degree. It is shocking that most of them had said that their aim is to enhance communication and interpersonal skills, improve language skills and so on. No doubt that MBA will enhance these skills, but that is not the real objective of this degree. If students really wanted to improve their communication skills, there are many less expensive courses in the offing other than MBA.
This indicates that students do very little analysis before they choose their respective streams of study. Only students with real MBA skills can make it to big league.
The real question is why do they need it.This degree actually exists because the job market needs people with sound knowledge in Scientific Management approaches. So a holistic perspective with a strong liking towards running a business venture is a prerequisite for the course. The industry expects people with an MBA degree to have knowledge on basic tenets of finance, accounting, marketing, sales and statistical analysis.
So students who join an MBA programme have to understand the core competencies and that soft skills will not propel them to a higher orbit unless they possess the hard skills.

Random Thought
Got my EVS exam completed yesterday. I was burning the midnight oil though I had couple of study holidays. EVS class was always a funny class. As it is a subject to be taught in primary level, we didn't care about this class. This exam is like "go, sit and write on the spot." Exam was over successfully and managed my time to see a film in the evening. Didn't saw it intentionally, was browsing over the channels and my eyes caught on the film. So started to see it.
Really enjoyed watching Tamil Padam.I didnt expect anything of it. Maybe because of no high expectation, I had an awesome time. Truly a hilarious movie. It actually mocks the stereotypical scenes in Tamil cinema. Some of the nuances which made me laugh in the film are:

- Male infanticide
- Director has hit the bull’s eye by casting the aging actors in the role of friends of heroes.
- Hero becoming a Billionaire in 5 minutes which all tamil cinema portray.
- Actor's classical dance piece.
- Some thugs started to fire at the heroine. But actor finds time to recover at the hospital, stop for a drink, slowly walk through town and finally save heroine - Note: All while the bullet is in motion.
- Traps and challenges set by the main thug in the climax.
- Climax in which hero would be set free inspite of all the crimes he commited and also promoting him as DGP

Etiquette Angels
Asian games are on in Guangzhou after much hype. China is usually noted for its grandeur. The opening ceremony of Olympics 2008 in Beijing was lauded by spectators and various international presses as spectacular and spellbinding and by many accounts "the greatest ever". The grandeur didn't deteriorate even this time. And one of it which awestruck me are the Etiquette Angels. Also known as Asian Angels
Etiquette angels are none but the hostess whose job is to escort the VIPs to present medals to the atheletes.
During Games events they can be seen warming up for medal ceremonies by holding out their arms, elbows firmly tucked into their bodies, carrying an imaginary tray of medals to an imaginary winner on the podium. It is said that their training included learning to stand for at least one hour at a time without dropping a sheet of paper tucked between their knees or letting a book fall from their heads. If either did hit the floor, they would have to start all over again. Then there was a smile training. It is a known fact that Chinese people follow lots of traditions. Traditional Chinese deem it ungraceful for a woman to bare her teeth when she smiles. But not Asian Games chiefs. ( this makes me remember "Bound Feet" which i studied in my school). Their eyes are definitely filled with amicability and sincerity. I am much impressed by the perfection of Chinese in whatever action they do. This perfection in work is reflecting in their rise in medals tally.

Happy Children's Day
A very Happy Children's Day is what I have to say today. This day takes me back to my sweet school memories. During children's day, teachers of my school perform lots of variety programs to make the children happy. We would be awestrucked by our teachers' performance as every teacher would contribute some sort of program to make their own students happy. When the teachers whom we had seen as strict, stern, austere in the class perform in the stage, we students would become spellbound. Those were really wonderful days. Every teacher in my school wished for the welfare of the students. They were truly our second parents. Those days won't really come back but those memories always remain in my heart. My teachers happily recognise every student wherever they see. They don't want any treasure or any token of gift from us. I could remember my teachers saying during my last day in school that all they want is to recognise them in our life whatever position we are.
Every student of my school would proudly say this : " I am proud to be a Josephite "

Breath of Freedom at last...!!!
Freedom at last for Aung San Suu Kyi. It is one of the most important events in world history. She is the leader who every people in Myanmmar like. The main reason for posting about Suu Kyi in this blog is she is one of the women I admire a lot right from my childhood. I came to know about this great revolutionary leader in my ninth standard. Her biography was one of the lessons in my English academics. Her release after 15 years has opened a new chapter in the history of Burma. Eventhough, she remained in detention, people's adulation for her has not deteriorated.
I am much inspired by Suu Kyi's defiance. She has not seen her 2 sons in a decade and had not even seen his husband during his death. Her release would definitely revive the hopes of Burmese public.

School children and Safety
None can forget the gruesome abduction and murder of two children at Coimbatore. This incident has acted as an alarm for the parents to safeguard their children from evil sources. One of the most important rules of parenting is never to take a child’s safety for granted, and that includes safety in school. A corrective action is required so that these crimes do not occur again. All schools should have a record of the transport details of their students. Details of driver such as name, vehicle number, photo, address should be sought. Even parents should be knowing all the information so as to safeguard their ward. An unique ID card should be produced by the school with a bar code in it. All the information of the drivers should be stored in computer . Manual checkup may consume time, so an automated checkup should be implemented where the driver's information will be verified using the barcode in it. Parents should teach their children safe behaviors . Children who know the appropriate action to take in a given situation are less likely to expose themselves to danger. Encourage your children to get to know school staffs other than their teachers and get acquainted with them.

Connecting Us..
In this fast moving world, everything goes far away from us even our closed ones. We are introduced to several social networking sites today so as to keep us updated of our closed ones. While the internet made the world a global village, the social networking sites brought the world within the four walls.Geographical locations are no barrier to stay in touch.Well, one of the many advantages is that you can connect with lost classmates, lost family members on social networking websites. Simply type in a name and you might see a picture of someone that you haven't seen in years. Some of the sites such as Friendster and MySpace are the two most popular sites that aim to build special niche for people who share common interests and passions. Whereas social networking sites such as Twitter and LinkedIn are more professionally related and help the business men promote their businesses.
However, everything has a positive and negative side.
Social networking of course helps in a lot of ways but the users have to be really careful to stay secure and safe. Security is one of the topmost concerns of social networking sites that you currently use. This is mainly because the social networking sites allow you to display your personal information such as name, location, and email address. There are some people who always in search of a fake identity. If they get all the information about you on internet, they may use your identity for different type of illegal activities, which may cause you problems in future. It is always advisable to don’t provide your entire identity information online.
You may get many requests for adding as friends or joining different communities. Always try to know as much as possible before adding anyone as friend or joining any community. Because they may use fake identity or may involve in some illegal activities, which may spoil your image.
Another cause of concern is cases of online harassment and stalking. Since the social networking sites, are very poorly regulated so it can be a very fertile ground for people trying to get even with you. They can spread malicious humor among your friends and also download and morph your photos.
To be honest, I am not against these sites , but the poor regulation of these sites. They should be properly regulated so that people enjoy the whole benefits of it.
ENJOY THE BENEFITS BUT BEWARE OF TROLLS

Obama's remark
( article published in " The Hindu "written by me )
The unassuming manner of Mr. Obama, leader of the free world and the most powerful man in the world, was impressive. He is the embodiment of the political leader every youth wants today. Michelle Obama was extremely warm and eloquent too. It was truly enriching to hear the President speak of bringing all countries together.

Obama's visit to India
Barack Obama is known as the 'leader of the free world' and the 'most powerful man alive. But his gesture towards Indians without any pride is awesome. He danced with the kids. He is a perfect example of a poltical leader who every youth wants today. Even the First Lady, Michelle Obama, was extremely warm and eloquent. It is truly enriching to hear the man speak of bringing countries together and acknowledging that human race needs to work towards a common goal as a unit.
President Obama was at ease with students and spoke to them as equals. What is it about Indian leaders that stops them from coming close to the citizens of the same country? Definitely, Indian leaders will have their thoughts on Gandhian principles, then why don't we see them interacting with the youth and giving them direction and not just treat them as vote banks? Shouldn't the Indian leaders loosen up a bit?
It is not wrong for the Indian politicians to take a leaf off Obama's book and come closer with the people of the country.

The most expensive car- Bugatti Veyron
When I thought of writing about this car in my blog, I was confused of how to define the most amazing production car in the world? Would it be:
- The car with the most horsepower?
- The car with the fastest top speed and acceleration?
- The most expensive car?
At the moment, the Bugatti Veyron appears to have it all:
- A W-16 engine that can produce 1,001 horsepower
- A top speed of 250+ mph (400+ kph)
- A zero-to-60 time of three seconds
- A zero-to-180 time of 14 seconds
- A price tag somewhere in the $1.2 million range.
Before the launch of Buggati in India, the most expensive cars in the Indian market were Rolls-Royce Phantom, Benty Muslane and the Mercedes-SLS which are priced at about Rs 5 crore.
VOLKSWAGEN GROUP"S Bugatti Automobiles launched its costliest ever car in India on Thursday ( oct 28 ) amidst much fanfare and anticipation. It is priced at Rs 16 crore in India. It uses components made of special materials like titanium, carbon fibre and magnesium, powered by an 8-litre engine with 16 cylinders.

Happy Diwali
Come Diwali and there’s a phenomenon that enters our daily lives, which is as ubiquitous as the sound of crackers.
Dhamaal....dhumeel....are all the sounds what I heard the whole day. To be honest, I fear of crackers right from my childhood. I go up to some dark room and close my self into the room....LOL. The same incident happened this diwali..stuffed my ears with cotton balls. I have a great abhorrence for crackers specially the one which produces enormous sound and smoke. The sounds produce a jerk in the body at its every burst and that highly irritates. Every time I wonder how that small atom bomb produces such a large amount of sound. The only cracker which i have tried till day is Sparkler ( very safe..:) )
But, I always like to watch the crackers which produces colorful lights. But haven't tried one still. Will always have a look at what my sister and brother do. We moved to terrace to burst crackers and had a great time over there. After some time, we started to play tennikoit.
I still wonder why people have such an allurement for crackers. Frankly, I feel it is a waste of money. While bursting them, they don't even look at how it bursts. I would opt for light producing ones over sound crackers. We could watch at those wonderful colors and atleast enjoy.
As always, felt sad as the day of diwali ended. All would get on with their routine. But still, the wait for the next Diwali has started..:)

On the eve of Diwali
Diwali is certainly a season of joy and cheer.
Today, I really had a nice time doing Diwali eve shopping. Dad, Mom, Sis, Me and brother walked a long way along with the huge crowd. Even though the huge crowd seems to be irritating, it is always a joy walking in the crowd during festival season ( specially diwali ). Such a crowd could be expected only in Diwali.
We planned to eat something and then landed to an ice cream parlour. To be frank, it was the first time, we ate icecream with utmost satisfaction..:).We ordered for three varieties. It was like having a sumptuous dinner in a 5 star hotel..:)
Light the lamps in your heart and feel the glow.

Go Green for Diwali
It is the time to celebrate Diwali. This is the only festival where people wait for and enjoy its arrival before one month itself. Still, only 2 days to wait for this wonderful festival. Streets are crowded with people for the last minute shopping.
Diwali is a time of getting together with family and friends. But, in all this celebration, we often forget one most important aspect...Guess what..?? POLLUTION
Bursting crackers is definitely a fun...none can deny it, but we should even consider the effect it has on the environment. So none can ban fireworks as it is not a practical solution. Also, if there are no fireworks, then it doesn't look to be like diwali.
The only solution is an eco-friendly product. It can produce light and minimum sound, but does not cause any harm to the environment.
People should get alarmed of the increased percentage of pollution around them and should go for eco-friendly products. Let this Diwali bring in lots of happiness and enlighten all our minds.

Colours..:)
Yesterday, I was praying to God that this month should fill up my life with happiness and should be filled with bright colours..
By then, something striked my mind..
What if there is no concept of colour..??How will the world be like without any colour?
It is really hard to imagine...
There would not be any sweet fights between siblings when Mom brings dresses of two different colours...:)
Life would be monotonous
Colours are thought to have different energies, which can be channeled into our bodies.
I like to quote out some cultural connotations to colour:
Orange: It is viewed as a bright cheerful colour in the west, in Indian symbolism it is representative or sacrifice and valor, especially in the battle field.
White: The west brides wear white, in India widows wear white.
Red: Red in India is the colour for a married woman, the colour of her bridal attire, the vermillion in the parting of her hair, the colour of the bangles she wears!
Colours have the power to alter our perception of what we see. If you have a small room, colouring it in light colours can make it appear larger. With the right colours you can create a serene haven in your room that can soothe and calm.
Finally, I thanked God for bestowing me with a good vision.
